With so much on the line right now when it comes to the economic security, health and safety of our nation’s women and families, the National Partnership for Women & Families will host a congressional briefing on Thursday to discuss the specific legislative and policy proposals that would protect and advance the well-being of all our communities. The event will feature U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D – Ill.) and U.S. Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (D – Del.) and leaders and policy experts from the National Partnership.

At the event, U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth and U.S. Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester will talk about the urgent need for a legislative agenda that supports women and families in 2017. National Partnership President Debra L. Ness will discuss the threats facing America’s women and their families today, and the policies that would truly help them thrive. The event will conclude with a detailed discussion of specific priorities, including: establishing paid family and medical leave and paid sick days standards; defending the Affordable Care Act and contraceptive coverage; promoting fair pay; combating pregnancy discrimination; and protecting and expanding access to comprehensive reproductive health care services – including abortion care.
