Tanya L. Goldman is a senior fellow at the National Partnership for Women & Families, where she provides expertise and supports the Economic Justice team’s research, advocacy, and policy work to pass a national paid family and medical leave program and win policies urgently needed for women’s employment.
Tanya brings over 15 years of experience litigating, advocating, and working in federal government to advance gender and economic justice for workers. Before joining the National Partnership, Tanya served in leadership roles in both the Biden and Obama administrations, most recently as Senior Counselor to the Secretary of Labor. Her time in federal government also included prosecuting violations of federal civil rights laws at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Tanya has worked at the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP), where she focused on policy solutions to improve job quality for workers, strengthen worker protections, and increase economic security for low-income working families, with a focus on paid leave and paid sick days. She also clerked on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and taught at Georgetown Law and Tulane University Law School. Tanya received her B.A. from Stanford University and her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
