Lauren Morrissey is the Email Marketing and Advocacy Specialist at the National Partnership for Women and Families where they are responsible for developing, executing, and analyzing the National Partnership’s email marketing program. In this role, they use storytelling and creative writing to put a human face on our issues and inspire people to take action and get involved.
Prior to their work at the National Partnership, Lauren served in communications and digital organizing roles at Catholics for Choice and Sojourners. She is also the co-founder of the Student Coalition for Reproductive Justice, a student-powered coalition of organizers at Catholic colleges and universities across the U.S. providing essential access to sexual and reproductive health care to young people. Lauren volunteers as an abortion doula with D.C. Doulas for Choice, and previously served on advisory boards with the American Society for Emergency Contraception and Advocates for Youth’s Youth Abortion Support Collective.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Lauren is a life-long bi-coastal resident and currently lives in Washington, D.C. She holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and religious studies from Loyola University Chicago. In their free time, Lauren can be found on a sand, grass, or indoor volleyball court; watching classic horror movies; or keeping their Goodreads profile up to date on her latest read.
