“The recent news that the Trump Administration is planning to ignore science, medicine and law in order to erase the identity of transgender people is another sad reminder of the cruel and narrow-minded leadership holding our country hostage. We know that trans people face harsh discrimination when seeking jobs, housing, health care and generally trying to live out their lives. This is especially true for trans women of color who bear the brunt of misogyny and violence that is pervasive in our culture. Make no mistake, this is an attempt to not only disenfranchise trans people but to enshrine ‘Proud Boy’ culture into law. We will not allow it.
