WASHINGTON, D.C. – October 6, 2025 – Today, the National Partnership for Women & Families (NPWF) announced that Taryn Mackenzie Williams has joined the organization as the new senior fellow for disability.
Williams will be a member of the organization’s economic justice team, bringing deep expertise in disability policy to the role. Her work will provide strategic direction to NPWF’s disability portfolio, highlighting the specific issues that disabled women and multi-marginalized disabled women face, while centering their perspectives in policy discussions.
“We are thrilled to have Taryn join our team to continue the important work we have been performing around disability economic justice, from engaging in the inaugural commemoration of Disabled Women’s Equal Pay Day to our centering disability rights in gender justice and economic policymaking spaces and combating attacks against hard-won protections that shield disabled people from discrimination,” said Jocelyn Frye, president of the National Partnership for Women & Families. “I look forward to working with Taryn to build on the progress we have made and to keep fighting to ensure that every woman has a fair shot at fully participating and thriving in our society.”
A former leader in the federal government, Williams served at the Department of Labor as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Disability Employment Policy with the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). Her wealth of experience includes partnering with employers and government leaders at all levels to advance evidence-based policies, prioritizing the phaseout of the subminimum wage and improving outcomes for young adults with disabilities from low-income communities.
“I am thrilled to join the National Partnership Team,” said Taryn Williams, senior fellow for disability. “The range of my work, and experience I’ve gained through all of it, has brought me to this organization at such an important time, and I look forward to the work ahead.”
Prior to her role at ODEP, Williams worked in a range of disability policy roles, including with the Center for American Progress, the Senate HELP Committee and in the Obama White House.
