In Unprecedented Move, More Than 150 Professors From the Nation’s Top Business Schools to Urge Congress to Create a National Paid Family and Medical Leave Program

On the heels of President Obama’s first-ever call for a national paid family and medical leave law, more than 150 professors from the nation’s most prestigious business schools will send a historic letter to Congress urging members to pass the Family And Medical Insurance Leave (FAMILY) Act — legislation the president noted in his announcement that would establish a national paid family and medical leave insurance program. On Tuesday, the National Partnership for Women & Families will convene an audio press conference featuring professors who sent the letter, including its lead author.

WHAT:
Audio press conference to discuss a letter being sent to members of Congress by business professors from across the country that makes a powerful business case for the FAMILY Act, national paid family and medical leave legislation, and calls on lawmakers to make its passage a top priority.
