“Today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision in Trump v. Hawaii, decided by a razor-thin margin of 5-4, is a blow to religious freedom and to the core values that have made our country strong. It will result in more families unable to reunite, more people going without the health care they need, and diminished prospects for people who stand ready to strengthen our economy by studying and working here.

This decision is an affront to all of us who oppose bias and bigotry. We will continue to vigorously fight discrimination in all its forms, and to challenge every nomination of a judge or justice who does not respect our fundamental rights and freedoms. Our country’s future is at stake.”
