“The Trump administration’s decision to gut funding for the ads that drive women and families to the health insurance marketplace, and the navigators who help them find affordable options when they get there, is a brazen, inexcusable attempt to undermine the Affordable Care Act (ACA). These unwise, harmful cuts threaten to reduce enrollment, destabilize the health insurance marketplace, increase premiums and leave millions more people without the health coverage – and consequently care – they need. Those in low-income, immigrant and other vulnerable communities will be disadvantaged the most by these cuts.
This is another shameful example of the Trump administration putting its political agenda ahead of the best interests of women and families. It is long past time for the administration to stop trying to repeal or sabotage the ACA and instead do what the vast majority of people want: work with bipartisan leaders in Congress to strengthen our health care system so quality, affordable care will be available to all.”
