Issue Brief Details High Human and Financial Costs WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 28, 2024 – Today, the National Partnership and Physicians for Reproductive Health (PRH) released a new analysis of the impact of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization...
“Today anti-abortion extremists in the Senate demonstrated once again that they are willing to hold the federal budget hostage to their effort to deny women access to contraception and abortion care. The vote to defund Planned Parenthood through a short-term spending bill was yet another example of the lengths to which these extremists will go to advance their dangerous anti-woman agenda. It was also a waste of time and yet another indication that Congress is deeply out-of-touch with the nation.
Planned Parenthood provides critically important preventive care, like contraception and cancer screenings, to millions of people. Eliminating its funding would hurt women, men and families who rely on the high-quality care Planned Parenthood provides.
Attacks on Planned Parenthood are attacks on women’s health. We commend the Senators who stood strong for women’s health and voted against this outrageous bill. We urge the Senate to quickly pass a budget that actually supports the services the nation needs.”
