“Today’s final ‘Marketplace Stabilization’ rule issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is hypocritical coming from an administration that is dead set on undermining the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Just yesterday, President Trump threatened to use health care cost-sharing subsidies as a bargaining chip in political negotiations to revive failed efforts to repeal the ACA. This once again demonstrates that the administration is willing to gut quality, affordable coverage that women and families need to score political points.
What we really need from this administration is a clear signal that the cost-sharing subsidies will continue and most importantly, an end to efforts to repeal the ACA. Only then will the health care marketplace thrive and continue to deliver on the promise of quality, affordable health coverage for all.”
