WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 14, 2025 – On the heels of its Spring board meeting, and as the organization prepares to celebrate its 55th Anniversary, the National Partnership for Women & Families announced that Michele L. Jawando has joined as the newest member of its Board of Directors.
Jawando is a nationally recognized leader working at the intersection of technology, public policy, and social impact. She brings extensive experience advancing equity, economic opportunity, and inclusive innovation. In her role as CEO of Omidyar Network, she leads a multimillion-dollar portfolio focused on ensuring technology, including artificial intelligence, works in ways that benefit society.
Throughout her career, Jawando has held leadership roles across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Before joining Omidyar Network, she served as U.S. Head of Strategic Engagement and Public Policy Partnerships at Google, where she built partnerships with policymakers, nonprofits, and other key stakeholders.
She also previously served as a Vice President at the Center for American Progress, as well as General Counsel and Senior Advisor to members of Congress in both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate.
