Press Statement
National Partnership Statement on Dr. Ford’s Testimony

“Today Dr. Christine Blasey Ford showed tremendous courage. Her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee is powerful, compelling and credible. Her quiet dignity and grace prevailed despite the inappropriate prosecutorial tactics of Senate Republicans. Dr. Ford’s bravery and the outpouring of support from people across this country will provide hope and inspiration for millions of other survivors.

Judge Kavanaugh continues to refuse to support an FBI investigation. His unwillingness to do so shatters his credibility. Based on today’s hearing and what we know to be true of Judge Kavanaugh’s record, there must be an FBI investigation and the committee should not move forward with a vote tomorrow.

Today’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing will long echo as a teachable moment for all of us in this country. But even as America is learning how to respect and support survivors, the lesson seems to be lost on the Senate Judiciary Committee’s 11 Republican men.”
