“The State Department’s latest ploy to demonize immigrant women who may be pregnant returns us to one of the ugliest chapters in our nation’s racial history. A time when people could be denied entry to the U.S. because of their race, nationality, or ethnicity. Targeting pregnant people of color visiting the U.S. demonstrates once again that racial profiling and exclusionary immigration practices continue at the highest levels of the Trump administration. We join the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum in condemning this outrage and call upon the State Department to rescind the rule immediately.”
