Paid Sick Days Coalition Website Wins 2008 Interactive Media Award

The National Partnership for Women & Families, which leads the Healthy Families Act Coalition, today announced that it has been awarded Outstanding Achievement in Website Development by the Interactive Media Awards™ for its work on the Online Rally for Healthy Families / Support Paid Sick Days website

“On behalf of the National Partnership and the Healthy Families Act Coalition, we are honored to have our work recognized by the Interactive Media Awards,” said National Partnership for Women & Families President Debra L. Ness. “All workers need paid sick days, and our campaign website and the ‘online rally’ it showcases are raising awareness about this critical labor standard and giving supporters a way to encourage Members of Congress to make the Healthy Families Act a priority for the nation.”

Created by the Interactive Media Council, Inc. (IMC), a nonprofit organization of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals, the Interactive Media Awards competition — http://www.interactivemediaawards.com — designed to elevate the standards of excellence on the Internet. The judging consisted of various criteria, including design, usability, innovation in technical features, standards compliance and content. In order to win this award level, the site had to meet strict guidelines in each area — an achievement only a fraction of sites in the IMA competition earn each quarter.

The Interactive Media Award honor recognizes that the project met and surpassed the basic standards of excellence that comprise the web’s most professional work. The site was honored specifically for excellence in Advocacy.
