“Today’s news that Missouri is trying to shut down the only abortion clinic in the state means it could be the first state in the country without a health center that provides safe and legal abortion care. This comes days after the Missouri Governor signed one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country and is clearly part of a coordinated effort in the state and across the country to make abortion care completely inaccessible. This is a crisis for women’s health everywhere. Extreme abortion restrictions and outright bans are part of relentless attacks from anti-abortion politicians who want to take us backward. We must fight back. We stand with Planned Parenthood in their efforts to ensure abortion access in Missouri. We will continue to fight with them and other partners and activists across the country against this and every attack on the right to access abortion care.”
