“The draft rule leaked today is an invitation for employers to use religion or personal beliefs to discriminate against female employees and another way to take away coverage for birth control and undermine the gains the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has brought. The rule is yet another callous, politically motivated attack on women’s health by the Trump administration.

This draft rule would be terrible for women’s health, equity and economic security. The Trump administration is working to undermine women’s health, civil rights and equal justice through regulatory actions like this, executive orders, its abysmal budget proposal which would gut Planned Parenthood, and by systematically undermining civil rights throughout our government. We call on the administration to withdraw this rule. We will continue resisting every effort to roll back our nation’s progress toward equity and economic security for all.”
