It is fair to say this country would not have enacted the Family and Medical Leave Act 21 years ago if not for Marge Roukema’s remarkable work.

She cared deeply about making progress on a range of economic and health issues, and worked tirelessly to generate bipartisan support for many of them. Her legacy is a proud one.”
