MEDIA ADVISORY: First Lady Michelle Obama to Keynote 40th Anniversary Celebration

The National Partnership for Women & Families will welcome keynote speaker Michelle Obama, First Lady of the United States, to its 2011 annual luncheon on Thursday, June 9.

NOTE:

DETAILS:
At the event, National Partnership for Women & Families President Debra L. Ness will discuss next steps in making the nation more fair and family friendly, and implementing health reform, and discuss recent actions by the House of Representatives that are hostile to women’s interests. She will talk about the National Partnership’s four decades of work to promote fairness in the workplace; improve access to quality, affordable health care; and advocate for policies that help workers meet the dual demands of work and family.

The program will include remarks by: Ellen Malcolm, Chair of the Boards of Directors of EMILY’s List and the National Partnership; Sally Susman, corporate chair of the event, National Partnership board member and Executive Vice President, Policy, External Affairs & Communications, Pfizer Inc.; and WRC-TV’s anchor Eun Yang, who will serve as emcee.
