MEDIA ADVISORY: Leading Women’s Group to Honor Senator Kamala Harris

The National Partnership for Women & Families will hold its annual gala honoring U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris for her ongoing support for the policies America’s women and families need.

DETAILS: The event will feature remarks from Senator Harris. National Partnership for Women & Families President Debra L. Ness will discuss the organization’s 46 years of work to make the country more healthy, fair and family friendly. She will talk about the challenges America’s women and families face today and lay out a vision for a future that includes a national paid family and medical leave insurance program; a federal paid sick days standard; an end to pay discrimination; fair and livable wages; and increased access to quality, affordable health care, including high-quality maternity care and comprehensive reproductive health care.

The program will include remarks by Ellen Malcolm, chair of the boards of directors of EMILY’s List and the National Partnership; and The Washington Post’s Petula Dvorak, who will serve as emcee.
