“We are deeply disappointed that House leaders are including a harmful and dangerous abortion restriction for community health centers in legislation designed to fix the Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR). The House proposal would further entrench the Hyde Amendment, which causes terrible harm to vulnerable women.

In addition, the House bill fails to fund women’s health providers — a huge omission given that low-income women around the country depend on family planning clinics for basic care.

Legislation to fix the SGR must not become another vehicle for jeopardizing women’s health.”
