“The National Partnership for Women & Families is proud to participate in today’s March for Black Women and March for Racial Justice here in Washington, D.C. These marches are historic events that will amplify the voices of Black women and underscore the urgent need to eradicate discrimination and oppression.
Racism, hatred, misogyny, discrimination and injustice are much too common in our country today and our entire nation suffers terribly as a result. Right now, we have a federal government that is working to undermine essential rights and protections, including by denying access to health care, and in particular, reproductive health. Women of color, people in the LGBTQ+ community and immigrants are among those suffering the most.
We stand in solidarity with the Black women, communities of color, and with all those who are marching today for dignity, justice, economic security and an end to racism. We will continue this fight until nobody has to experience discrimination, all families have a real chance to thrive, and our society is free, fair and just.”
