“Today’s Senate Committee on the Judiciary hearing on abortion care is yet another shameful attempt by anti-abortion politicians in the Senate to mislead the public and advance their callous agenda to block women’s access to abortion care. It is another example of Congress playing politics with women’s lives.

The bills under discussion at today’s hearing disregard scientific evidence and interfere in the practice of medicine. They violate women’s constitutional rights and put women’s health at grave risk. With this hearing – and many others like it – anti-abortion lawmakers continue to demonstrate that they prioritize politics over women’s health.

It’s past time for Congress to stop wasting time on dangerous, irresponsible legislation and instead get back to the business of governing in ways that support women’s health and protect access to high-quality health care.”
