National Partnership President Debra L. Ness will discuss the imperative to adopt meaningful health care reform that addresses the needs of women and their families, including vulnerable patients with multiple chronic conditions and their caregivers, and the urgent need to adopt paid sick days and other family-friendly policies. The program will also include remarks from Ellen Malcolm, President of EMILY’s List and Chair of the National Partnership’s Board of Directors. WRC-TV anchor Eun Yang will emcee.
Valerie B. Jarrett is this year’s distinguished honoree and keynote speaker. She will address the Obama Administration’s commitment to women and families. As one of President Obama’s most trusted advisors, and Chair of the White House Council on Women and Girls, Ms. Jarrett is leading the Administration’s work to improve economic security for women and families; help workers meet the demands of job and family; provide access to quality, affordable health care; and prevent violence against women.
